Abstract (EN)
In this research, it is aimed to determine the inclusion of root values and the values determined by Schwartz in the texts, images and poems in the mother tongue books taught in the primary schools of Azerbaijan and Turkey, which have common religion, language, ethnicity, history and culture, and to determine the distribution of values in the textbooks. is intended to determine. In the research, books approved by the Ministry of National Education in Turkey and the Ministry of Education in Azerbaijan were used. Four Turkish and four Azerbaijani language books were used, one from each class. Reading texts, poems and images in Turkish and Azerbaijani language books were included in the research; listening texts and activities were excluded from the study. Texts, poems and images; It was examined according to the root values of the MEB and the values in Schwartz's Values Scale. Document analysis method was used to examine texts, images and poems. The data of the research were analyzed with the descriptive analysis method. As a result of the research, it was seen that all the values included in the study were included in Turkish and Azerbaijani primary school textbooks, although they were repeated at different frequencies at all grade levels. It has been determined that there is no balance in the distribution of values in texts and images. It was concluded that the most emphasized value in the texts in primary school Turkish and Azerbaijani language textbooks is the value of self-direction, and the less emphasized value is the value of justice. The value distributions in the textbooks of both countries can be rearranged taking into account the characteristics of the students at the grade levels.
