Abstract (EN)

The Law No.7188 on Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and Some Other Laws was published in Official Gazette of Turkey on October 24, 2019. With this regulation, the entrance exam for legal professions was introduced. Entrance Exam for Legal Professions is expected to be implemented for the first time in Turkish Legal System in 2024. This exam, which is new to Turkish Legal System, is an exam that has been implemented for many years in various Balkan Countries under similar names and formats. In our study, a comparasion has been made between the types of this exam in Turkey and Balkan countries. The comparasion has not been limited solely to the exam. Our research includes a comparison of legal education and legal professions in the two regions alongside the comparasion of the entrance exam for legal professions. In our study, differences and similarites in legal education in both regions have been presented. Two regions influenced by Roman Law and Ottoman Law throughout history, encompass both differences and similarities in contemporary legal systems. This Study aims to elucidate the disparities between the legal education and the legal systems of the two regions which are interlinked by their historical and cultural ties.
