Abstract (EN)
Financial institutions are faced with a number of risks. Derivatives instruments help financial instutitions to minimize their risks. This study provides on overview of main types of derivative contracts and their usage. Also, Derivatives have many benefits in case of use properly traded. But the misuse of derivatives cause severe problems. Derivatives played an important role in the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. So, ethical issues and abuse of derivatives usage are discussed within the framework of Crisis. The aim of this study is to analyze the cause and effect of usage of derivatives as a hedging instrument in Turkey's Banking Sector.
