Abstract (EN)
Tea sector has a very important place in the world's and Turkish economies as it is very valuable in terms of both culturally and economically. Tea plant grows in a very limited area in Turkey, so it doesn't contribute much to the economy of the country. However, it is frequently consumed in daily life. As there aren't many agricultural alternatives in terms of products in the eastern Black Sea region tea plant has become more valuable. Due to the increasing demand for tea, the production of the plant has been permanently increasing. Hence tea sector has been developing gradually. Therefore the place of tea plant in the economy of the region has been studied on. The economical contribution of tea production in terms of employment, exportation, importation has been evaluated. In return to acquired data, proposals are brought forward, a general assessment is made, in the conclusion part and suggestions are given to senior researchers.
