Abstract (EN)

The phenomenon of migration from the past to the present has always maintained its existence. The migration affects not only the states receiving migration, but also all geographies where globalization is felt in economic, social and cultural terms.Turkey, which has an important place in terms of geographical location, strategically represents an important place for foreigners who are under international and temporary protection. As the migration process affects the individuals who migrate, it also affects the individuals living in the immigrated country in a positive and negative way. Yalova province, which has an important position , is surrounded by developed provinces and has become a province where disabled immigrants migrate a lot by expanding the scope of migration. Yalova province, which is surrounded by major cities, especially Istanbul, is also among the provinces preferred by immigrants. There are people with disabilities at birth or later, among the foreigners who are under international protection and temporary protection status. In fact, disability makes it difficult for individuals to participate in social life in addition to the difficulties in meeting their daily needs. Being disabled and a foreigner constitutes a double disadvantage. The struggles of disabled foreigners, who need more support than other foreigners, with the problems caused by this double disadvantage they experience continue throughout their lives. The difficulties experienced by disabled foreigners in vulnerable groups during and after the migration process in meeting their needs and the inadequate conditions they find themselves which make the situation of the disadvantaged even more difficult. In this study, the problems experienced by foreigners with disabilities who have taken refuge in Turkey and have been granted international protection and temporary protection status as double-disadvantaged individuals are evaluated in the context of Yalova province. Within the scope of the qualitative study, interviews were conducted with 9 disabled foreigners who were granted temporary protection / international protection status and it was tried to reveal the problems they experience as a double disadvantage, their life struggles, the opportunities they have, the problems experienced in health services related to the type of disability, the supports given in the face of financial inadequacy.
