Abstract (EN)

There are many religions around the world that basically affect people's lifestyles and perspectives. Hodgetts and Luthans (1997) stated that religion affects human behavior; It states that religions have guiding sides about how individuals behave towards others in society. In this sense, religion is a multi-faceted and deep concept with individual and social effects. The starting point of this study is based on the observation that the people who describe themselves as religious are experiencing religiousness and the ways of expression differ. Religious studies that accelerated in the West and different definitions of the concepts of religiosity over Christianity increase the curiosity about religiosity. As well as the change-diversity in the definition of religiosity made on how to define Christianity in the West in Turkey or it may allow an understanding of the difference depends on how the religiosity diversified culture. It may have influenced the use of social media in every aspect of daily life as well as the way religion is lived. Therefore, the focal point of this research is the relationship between the people who define themselves as religious and the ways of living religiousness and the ways of expression with social media usage. The 2000s can be thought of as a period in which the internet and online communication started to spread rapidly, the increase in the sources of access to information and the social media culture spread to every segment. With the intensification of the use of social media / internet or computer-mediated communication, the communication resources of the religious sector have also become more diverse. Many studies investigating the attitudes and behaviors of individuals on the basis of religious groups to which they belong, especially focus on the effect of on line use of religion in the context of intergroup relations (Tsai, 2015). The study, which carries out its conceptual framework on the axis of religiousness and conservatism; It considers the consumption perception of the conservative and religious sector from the use of social media and consumption habits in real life. In this study, it is aimed to examine the constructs of meaning about the perception of religiosity with a social psychological approach. For the purposes of the study, two different methods, both qualitative and statistical, were used. The results indicate that different forms of religious orientation has effect on the meaning of conservative religiosity in Turkey and its relationship with consumption dynamics. In particular, it is seen that the external guided and fundamentalist religious orientation has an indirect effect on the priority consumption habits of the conservative sector.
