Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to compare the attitudes towards gender roles of Turkish, Kurdish, Arabs and Circassians living in Turkey. In addition, this study was conducted to examine whether attitudes towards gender roles differ in terms of age, gender, duration of education, parental education status, parental togetherness status, family type and place of residence. The sample of the study consisted of 1829 people in the 18-60 age range living in Turkey. In order to collect data, Sociodemographic Information Form that prepared by researcher and Gender Roles Attitude Scale (GRAS) prepared by the researcher were used. According to the findings of the study, the attitudes of the Turkish, Kurdish and Circassian participants towards the egalitarian gender roles, female gender roles, marriage gender roles, traditional gender roles, male gender roles and gender roles in general are more egalitarian than Arab participants. The egalitarian attitude towards the egalitarian gender roles, the female gender roles, marriage gender roles, the traditional gender roles, the male gender roles and the gender roles in general decreased with increasing age and increased with increasing total education duration. The findings of the study were discussed in the light of the literature.
