Development and art in Turkey this area of contributions main representatives of the evaluation

The illustration art in Turkey and the contribution of the artists to the illustration art is evaluated in this study. Qualitative methods through research methods and interviewing techniques with the artist working in this area are used in this study. In this concept, seven questions are asked to the artist. The answers to the questions are evaluated and commented.Illustration means in general, drawing that explain a subject in a text. Illustration in the western has grown by dividing in to branches since the industrial revolution. The illustration that had been done using traditional techniques until 1980 has been done using computer so far.Many artists worked and gave samples during the time starting from the pre-computers time until today. Those artists who used work with traditional methods and now working with computers are still giving samples and are doing business among the most liked ones. But the artists that couldn?t transfer their working methods to modern computer aided methods have difficulties in giving production in their areas.According to the results from this study, it was understood that the illustrator artists don?t get the necessary respect and importance in Turkey and chose to leave Turkey and go abroad. That is why studies should be done to give the right importance to the illustrators in Turkey and help our skillful artists to produce more products in our country.Keywords: İllustration art, Art education, Graphic Design, Graphic Education
