Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the fund source amounts of six participation banks operating in Turkey by year and to determine which fund source is more important and which participation bank used more effective fund sources in which year according to the determined weights. For this purpose, 6 participation banks operating in Turkey were selected as samples in the study. These banks are Albaraka Türk Katılım Bankası, Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası, Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası, Ziraat Katılım Bankası, Vakıf Katılım Bankası and Emlak Katılım Bankası. Although participation banks are similar to traditional banks in terms of fund collection methods, they differ from other banks by eliminating interest and using dividends. Participation banks conduct transactions with 5 account types when obtaining funding sources. These account types are private current accounts, participation accounts, savings accounts, investment accounts and precious metal deposit accounts. The account types used in the analysis of the study are private current accounts, participation accounts and precious metal deposit accounts. No study has been found examining which fund sources preferred by investors using participation banks in Turkey over the years and which fund sources they used in participation banks. It is thought that researching and analyzing this issue will make a significant contribution to the field of Islamic economics and finance. In the study, 10-year fund resource amounts of participation banks covering the period between 2013 and 2022 were used. Then, an analysis study was carried out using the SD and WASPAS method, which are multi-criteria decision-making techniques. The weights of special current accounts, participation accounts and precious metal deposit accounts used in the analysis were determined using the SD method. According to SD analysis results, it has been observed that the weight ratios of different account types are higher depending on the economic developments in Turkey over the years. With the WASPAS method, the fund resource performance of 6 participation banks in the specified time period was measured with the help of predetermined weights. In the WASPAS analysis results, it was determined that the performance of Kuveyt Türk participation bank was better than other participation banks in all years. This performance of Kuveyt Türk participation bank can be based on reasons such as being the oldest in terms of its establishment, leading the participation banking system in Turkey, the variety of products the bank has implemented, and its effective activities at home and abroad.
