Abstract (EN)
In this study, the anatomical features of the genus Tulipa L. (Liliaceae) in Turkey were investigated. All anatomical structures including transverse sections of the root, stem and leaf, and surface sections of the leaves were illustrated. 420 specimens belonging to 42 populations were examined. Numbers of stomata and ratio of stomatal index in the leaf surfaces per 1 mm2 were calculated. Some important differences among Tulipa taxa have been found with regard to comprehensive and comparative anatomical study for the first time. In the statistical analyses, cluster and principal component analysis (PCA) was used and compared. Adopting the classification of Zonneveld, the genus Tulipa in Turkey are divided into three subgenera according to anatomical results: Eriostemones, Tulipa and Clusianae. Subgenus Clusianae included only one species, T. clusiana. Subgenus Eriostemones is also divided into two sections following Baker and Eker et al.'s studies: Sylvestres and Saxatiles. Other subgenus Tulipa included one section: Tulipa.
