Abstract (EN)
Today, academic studies on women's working life are increasing. This increase also gives information about how effective female labor force participation rate is for the national economy. Women in working life, especially women academics, face many problems in their field of work. The aim of this study is to examine working life of female academics in Turkey who face more problems compared to women academics around the world through Bartin University. In this study, a questionnaire was applied to female academicians in Bartın University and opinions of women academicians were taken within the scope of the situation of women academicians in working life and the problems they faced. The data obtained from the survey application was analyzed in SPSS package program and evaluated with chi-square independence test. In the study, female academicians; their opinions about working life by receiving their views on career priority, the effect of marital status and having children during academic career, the status of double career, the status of inequality of opportunity based on gender, the availability of sufficient time to conduct scientific studies and the status of additional tuition fees. When the findings obtained in the study were evaluated in general; it was observed that most of the female academicians did not intend to change their professions, did not have an inequality of opportunity based on gender, spouses with double careers advanced faster and faced the conflicts of roles experienced by all women in working life.
