Abstract (EN)
As the world trade volume increases, it is possible that a product produced on one side of the world consume on the other side. There are different modes of transportation to satisfy this need. Maritime transportation, which is one of the transportation modes, is the most preferred one because it is cheaper than railway, highway and airway. The majority of import and export volume in Turkey and all around the World are done by sea. It is essential to provide high quality service to satisfy the customer needs in the sea transportation lines which provides sending raw material to production points and the final product to last customer. Quality Function Deployment is an engineering method that first determines customer needs and then transforms those needs into business requirements by evaluating and integrating these needs in every process of research and development, engineering, marketing, sales and distribution. This method, which is determined as an application method within the scope of the thesis, is a quality system that assures customer satisfaction and is an important planning, development and communication method. This study will consist 4 parts, first of all, maritime logistics in Turkey sector will be analysed numerically, and then definitions of main concept will be given. Next, general literature review will be given, after that; the critical factors determined by experts and among direct shippers will be defined. Finally, they will be ordered by using one of the multi-criteria decision making methods. In this study, Fuzzy QFD (Quality Function Deployment) will be chosen as MCDM method. In this QFD application, linguistic variables quantified with fuzzy numbers will be used, then total scores for each alternative will be calculated, and according to these scores, finally the best shipping line will be selected by a fuzzy programming model.
