Abstract (EN)
It aims and covers the evaluation of the effects of children's literature on museology in terms of cultural and museum education by examining the publications of children's museums in Turkey and abroad. The connection of children's museum publications with children's literature was examined through the exhibitions and activities of the museums. Children's books, which are used in the cultural and educational works of children's museums, shape museum publications and strengthen museum communication. Children's museums, which play an important role in instilling goals such as cultural heritage awareness, art perception, language and history knowledge, and love for books, are developing domestically with a focus on education and art, while being collection-oriented abroad. It is more common for children's literature to be the subject of museums alone, especially in developed countries with author museum houses and story museums. The 'museum' theme has also affected children's literature. Resources to support museum education abroad are available on the websites of children's museums and the number of museum-themed books in their libraries is high. Since there is a limited number of children's museums in Turkey, their publications are still developing. Parallel to this, children's books on "museum" are few in our country. The ones, many of which are produced within the scope of museum-school projects are mostly children's books and translation books. In this context, the thesis is aimed to help future studies. In the first part of the thesis, the concept of children's museum, its types and publications are explained. In the second part of the thesis, it has been researched through online field scanning through the activities of children's museums and publications in Turkey. Children's books converted into museums and Turkish children's books about the museum are presented with examples. In the third part of the thesis, children's museums, and publications from around the world were researched. Children's literature and writers' houses that have been converted into museums and children's books on the museum are listed according to countries. In the fourth part of the thesis, the effects, and contributions of children's literature to museology are examined in the focus of culture, education, and communication. As children's museums develop, their publications will continue to influence both museology and children's literature.
