Özet (EN)

Increasing population and industrialization in Turkey cause increase in energy consumption. Fossil fuels form the basis of Turkey's energy production and consumption. Turkey is looking for ways to evaluate renewable energy potentials, such as fossil fuels reserves to be consumed in the near future, increases in energy imports and environmental pollution at global level. Solar energy is very important with the advantage brought by Turkey's geographical location. In this study, the potential of solar energy in the Aegean region has been examined in detail, taking into consideration the energy landscape of Turkey and the general situation of renewable energy sources. In this context, the grid-connected photovoltaic power plant with 1 MW capacity is designed with RETScreen software for every province in the Aegean region. The equipment and materials required for power plant installation were selected, and the designated location solar energy data was obtained from NASA's Atmospheric Science Data Center. At the end of the design for the provinces in the region, electricity energy production amounts and greenhouse gas reduction values according to different fuels were calculated. In addition, the gains achieved as a result of greenhouse gas reduction are shown. Cost analysis was carried out for the power plants provinces in the region considering annual revenues from electricity generation, annual operating costs and initial investment costs. As a result of the cost analysis, it has been determined whether the Aegean Region provinces are eligible for this investment. Keywords: Aegean Region, Cost Analysis, Photovoltaics, Solar Energy, Renewable Energy Resources.
