Abstract (EN)
Financial crises that emerged unexpectedly and spread to the real sector and other countries have caused academic researchers to feel the need to examine financial crises. Important points that draw attention in studies conducted on financial crises are that there is no single factor that triggers crises and that crises occur as a result of many factors affecting each other. With the liberalization of capital in the context of neoliberal economic policies implemented after 1980, crises have become globalized and easily contagious to other countries. For the aforementioned reasons, it is important to examine financial crises and determine their emergence by investigating them. Due to the importance of the subject in our thesis, the financial crises experienced by Turkey were investigated, the Turkish economy was examined within the scope of basic macroeconomic indicators for the period 1981-2022, and the causes and consequences of the crises experienced were examined, and whether there were crisis signals in the economy in the recent period was investigated and evaluated in the context of macroeconomic indicators.
