Abstract (EN)
Although Industry 4.0 emerged as a 'Smart Factory' concept, in a very short time, it expanded the boundaries of this definition and turned towards the concept of 'do it smarter', no matter what you produce, and spread rapidly to almost all sectors. Since Industry 4.0 was first formed, all developed countries showed interest in this new concept and intervened without wasting any time to take initiative. The reason for their interest in Industry 4.0 was to understand and research the economic advantages that the new concept would provide, as well as gain prestige. Based on this idea, almost all developed countries started to create Industry 4.0 structures and determined their roadmaps in general terms. Although there are many definitions about Industry 4.0, industry 4.0 is mainly about digital transformation and does not only cover the manufacturing sector. In a very short time after the digital transformation emerged in the production sector, it has spread to many areas from smart transportation and logistics, smart buildings, smart fuel consumption, smart health applications and even smart cities. The digital transformation that comes with Industry 4.0, more production and optimization, the opportunity to provide instant data in the supply chain, the ability to provide better quality and personalized products, the possibility of providing more suitable and sustainable physical working conditions, will incur a serious price for the countries that are late for this transformation. continues to develop rapidly. The concept of Industry 4.0 occupies an important place today, at the same time it is one of the issues that are given importance throughout Turkey. In the study, the industrial revolutions that have taken place until today are discussed and the returns of the concept of Industry 4.0 are examined. It is aimed to evaluate Industry 4.0 on the basis of Turkey by using appropriate panel data analysis based on the data about Turkey included in the Global Innovation Index.
