Abstract (EN)

The cooperative learning model has recently become the focus of science education studies. There are many studies on cooperative learning model in science education literature. In this context, this study, which was conducted to examine the studies conducted in the field of science education related to the cooperative learning model, is thought to be important in terms of showing the orientations of both articles and thesis studies in this field. Accordingly, the aim of the research is to examine the trends in terms of the year, type, field of study, subject area, method, data collection tools, sample, sample size and data analysis method of the studies published on the cooperative learning model in science education in Turkey. Descriptive content analysis approach, one of the content analysis methods, was used in the study. The sample of the study consists of 62 articles published in DergiPark, which is a part of the National Academic Network and Information Center of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, and 56 theses published in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education between 2010-2020. The Study Classification Form (SCF) developed by Gündoğan and Öztürk (2022), was used as a data collection tool. Accordingly, the theses and articles within the scope of the research were first coded separately using the ESF, and then these codes were processed into the Microsoft Excel program and frequency and percentage graphs were obtained for the studies. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that the number of thesis and article studies on cooperative learning in science education between the years included in the sample of the research was close and quantitative research methods were preferred in both studies. It is thought that the results obtained in the study will provide researchers with ideas for new studies in terms of enabling researchers to see the orientations in the studies on the cooperative learning model in science education in Turkey and the gap in the related literature.
