Abstract (EN)

Youth unemployment continues to exist as an important economic and social problem in Türkiye as well as globally. This problem has serious consequences at both the individual and social levels by preventing young people from successfully entering the labor market. High youth unemployment and the inability to bring young people's education and professional skills to the economy negatively affect economic growth and social welfare in the long term. Therefore, the entry of the young population into the labor market is of critical importance for the country's economic growth and social stability. In this study, we will try to examine the historical development, causes, consequences and implemented policies of youth unemployment in Türkiye. In addition, by comparing the youth unemployment rates in European Union (EU) countries and Türkiye, it will be revealed at what level Türkiye is in this regard.
