Özet (EN)

The Effects of Sage, Sesame and Blueberry Plants in Widely Used in Turkey to The Sperm Functions Parameters During in vitro Conditions Oxidative stress in semen arises from the imbalance between reactive oxygen species and seminal antioxidants. Oxidative stress is known to cause more infertility. Antioxidants reverse the high ROS concentration and reverse their negative effects on semen parameters. In this study, we investigated the effect of three plants with high antioxidant content on sperm function in vitro. This and similar studies and the effects of ROS during assisted reproduction techniques can be minimized. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the progressive motility and vitality parameters of the samples by applying three different concentrations of sesame, sage and blueberry plants on sperm samples prepared by using the gradient method in normozoospermia cases. The study was submitted to the Biruni University Non-Interventional Ethics Committee and was approved by the ethics committee of 2017 / 5-3 issues and 26.04.2017. The study was performed between June 2017 and April 2018 in Bahçelievler Medical Park Hospital IVF Center for patients who applied for spermiogram analysis. In this study, normozoospermia (n = 40) patients who were admitted to Bahçelievler Medical Park Hospital Clinic Center were selected and standard semen analysis was performed according to WHO criteria. Sperm samples were washed by gradient method and evaluated for progressive motility and vitality after washing. Three different concentrations of sesame, sage and blueberry plants were reevaluated in sperm samples at a ratio of 1: 1 to 30, 60 minutes and 24 hours for progressive motility and vitality. According to this study, the most significant difference in the sperm samples in which the sesame, sage and blueberry extracts were applied was observed in the samples where the sesame extract was applied and a significant increase was observed in both the control and the other two plants according to the progressive motility and vitality findings.
