Importance in construction sector occupational health and safety in Turkey: An application example

In historical processes and today's world, most of the people spend most of their time working. Due to the increasing work accidents due to the rapid development in the business life, thousands of people become disabled or die every year. There are dangers and risks wherever there is a worker and a job, and occupational health and safety from these issues has become a very important issue. In addition to the fact that this issue, which is of great importance for humanity, affects social life negatively, material damages caused by work accidents and occupational diseases also affect the country's economy negatively. Existing regulations and procedures are renewed and developed to minimize or minimize these problems and adversities. The construction sector in Turkey, according to the SSI data in terms of the number of work accidents that occurred along with mineral and metal sector in our country is located in the first row. In the fatalities, it is seen that the construction sector constitutes one third of the total fatalities and the sector is in the first place with this statistics. The main aim of this study was to examine the working conditions of workers in the construction sector in Turkey and to determine occupational accidents and occupational diseases encountered in construction also present in detail the factors that cause occurred in the construction sector and industrial accidents, evaluation of the construction sector in terms of job security and construction industry workers of It determines whether occupational health and safety practices are performed properly and what direction the worker is going after.
