Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the discourse around the perception of woman chastity, the course in which women encounter this notion and how women are affected will be investigated around a few questions. When women meet this discourse at an early age, how do they view themselves and their bodies? And also, how does this affect their sexual life? How do women fight with this discourse both individually and collectively? Through which sources, is the chastity discourse being reproduced and maintained? All of these questions are being investigated within the frame of feminist method and principles. In this context, depth interviews of fifteen women will be analyzed. In addition to this, texts that include religious and medical discourses, gynecology websites, newspaper columns treating sex-related issues and the popular discourse about the same subject will be analyzed. It is clear that women are surrounded by a strong discourse and their bodies, together with their sexualities, are deeply affected.
