Assesment of women's poverty in Turkey particularly for women employed in textile sector

Poverty, which is a highly controversial concept, is becoming more diverse in parallel with global developments and new types of poverty are entering in our lives. Poverty experiences may differ in both countries and households and women come to the forefront as the group that feels poverty in the deepest way. From labor market structure to gender roles, many variables have influence on increasing the visibility of women's poverty. Women find the opportunity to work in labor-intensive and low-paid jobs in the sexed labor markets, precarious and flexible forms of employment increase their vulnerability in the labor market. While women participate in employment, there is no significant change in their domestic roles, they carry out both home and work responsibilities together and face double duty obligations. In this study, firstly women's labor force is put forward, in the second part women poverty and women's articulation is examined. The data and opinions in the literature have been utilized during these studies. In the third part, the situation of women in the textile sector was examined and field studies were held by conducting interviews. Keywords: Women Labor Force, Poverty, Textile, Gender, Women Poverty
