Abstract (EN)

Family, community first brick of the foundation, is the smallest unit. In previous times of modernization along with the traditional patriarchal family type nuclear family has left. Traditional patriarchal family types seen in societies where women's education, working life in many areas did not have equal rights with men. All these changes taking place in society, in the family institution alongside a number of positive changes also brought negativity and unresolved. This dissolution is the most important domestic violence. Family violence seen in our country and in the world is a major problem. Most affected by the violence in the family and victims of violence are women. Women who use violence in the family, the more the wives. Violence against women in the world in the 1970s began to come up. In our country, women are the most secure places described as an in home violence previously behind closed doors being experienced, private, intimate space of the problem is described as both a neighborhood, relatives, neighbors and state issues involved in being reluctant as well as the women of the housing collapse to state a sound is, will he at the thought patience was. However, violence against women, women's movement began in the 1980s only to women victims of violence not as an injustice to all women face the day began to draw to qualify. To combat violence against women in the 1990s have begun institutionalizations the 2000s to prevent problems with both the state and all institutions and agencies, non-governmental organizations, universities, media studies has accelerated. To the problem of violence against women in our country waking and resistance to occur every day, but the problem continues to increase as a contagious virus. Four out of every ten women in our country to do throughout his life is exposed to a kind of violence. Purpose of this study in the world and in our country every day an increasing violation of human rights is a universal issue and a public health problem which is described as violence against women and to this day the problem in order to prevent the policy of the relevant literature help to explicate. The study consists of three parts. In the first part of the study, the concept of social policy, violence, violence against wome, family, domestic violence, types of violence against women, violence, and general characteristics of individuals exposed to violence are discussed. In the second part of the study, the historical development of violence against women in the world, the world of the dimensions of violence in the country, for the prevention of violence against women, the international laws and regulations and studies are discussed. In the third part of the stud, women from ancient times to the present process has been referred to the place and position in society. Also in Turkey, violence against women and combating violence movements at the historical process in our country, violence against women in the fight against the legal regulations, victims of violence to women serving agencies and organizations and the prevention of violence for social policies are given.
