Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the offensive organization preferences of the teams in the play-off series in the 2022-2023 season of the Turkish Women's Basketball Super League (TKBSL) and the shots from which offensive areas these preferences were taken. In addition, this study aims to reveal the effects of offensive preferences on the level of success, which is evaluated as the winning-losing situation of the match and the rankings in the league. The universe of the research consists of the 2022-2023 season of the TKBSL. The sample group consists of teams that play in the play-offs after the regular season. In this context, the sample of the study consists of analysis data from a total of 34 teams, including both winners and losers, in 17 matches of the TKBSL play-off series. A data set was created using a systematic observation method and an e-analysis basketball program, based on the different offensive strategies of the teams and how these strategies were reflected in their on-court performance. Chi-square tests were used for statistical procedures to determine the relationships between the means of the variables when comparing the means between groups. Offensive organizations were evaluated in the categories of fast break, transition offense, set offense, pick-and-roll, and individual offense, while offensive zones were classified as under the basket, mid-range, three-point zone, second chance offense, and free throw opportunities. The findings indicate that there are significant relationships between the variety of offensive organizations, offensive intensity, and preferred offensive zones and match results (p < 0.05). In all the matches played, set plays emerged as the most preferred offensive organization, with a preference rate of 56,7%. It has been determined that winning teams tend to focus more on fast breaks and transition attacks, while losing teams tend to focus more on set plays. In addition, it has been observed that points scored from under the basket and free throws have a significant impact on the outcome of the game. The findings of this study may serve as a guide for coaches and sports scientists in understanding tactical trends in the TKBSL and developing strategic plans.
