Abstract (EN)

Productivity studies have an utmost importance in general mining operations. Thanks to the analysis carried out, ore production can be handled at large scales more economically. In this study, problems encountered during open cast mining operations in Garp Lignite Company by the use of state agents were investigated. The main purpose was to obtain more productive operations by solving several problems as a result of the analysis to be carried out using the data collected from the open cast mine. The data obtained from the productivity studies made were then recorded. After the field investigations carried out in the selected area, efficiency was improved by eliminating the problems related to the selection of dumping areas, loader-truck compatibility, design of transport roads and other technical issues. More effective use of existing machinery and providing longer operational time for the vehicles resulted in an increase in transport efficiency. Fuel and electricity costs were reduced by proper pump selection. Cost of explosive and fuel consumption were also reduced due to the changes made in the drill patterns. All of these changes made according to the results of the investigation resulted in an increase in the annual revenue by 20% and they also made the company more cost effective.
