Abstract (EN)

Protected areas are important since they have biodiversity and contain different ecosystems within them. These areas directly or indirectly favor the geographical locations they take place. It is now a well known fact that these areas are important for the equilibrium of the earth as a whole. Protected areas offer capacity for the conservation of larger geographies. In addition, these areas offer economic, social, cultural touristic, and climatic benefits. In this study, the management approach including registration, planning, implementation, and inspection of national parks in our country will be introduced. Within this context the framework of the other countries' national park management systems will be reviewed. The increasing importance of governing approaches of such areas are also examined and international best practices are underlined. The aim of the study is to analyse the national park management system in Turkey within the scope of the international principles and criteria to bring a new management perspective and to contribute to the national park management approach.
