Taxonomical and ecological features of Nephtyidae, Glyceridae and Goniadidae (Annelida: Polychaeta) distributed along the coast of Turkey

Abstract (EN)

In order to determine Nephtyidae, Glyceridae and Goniadidae species distributed along the Turkish coast, benthic samples from 299 stations were evaluated from different biotopes and depths. A total of 8 genera, 23 species and 9249 individuals belonging to these three families were identified. Among them, 18 species belonging to 7 genera were found on the coast of the Levant Sea; 22 species belonging to 8 genera were foundon the coast of the Aegean Sea; 16 species belonging to 6 genera were found in the Sea of Marmara; and 4 species belonging to 3 genera were found in the Black Sea. Of these, 9 species belonged to Nephtyidae, 7 species belonged to Glyceridae and 7 species belonged to Goniadidae. Among them, Inermonephtys turcica and Nephtys sinopensis are originally described for science. In addition, Nephtys assimilis is new record for the Turkish Levantine fauna; Nephtys kersivalensis is new for the Sea of Marmara and the Turkish Levantine fauna; Glycera lapidum is new for the Sea of Marmara and the Turkish Levantine fauna; Glycera oxycephala is new for the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea; Goniada hexadentes is new for the Sea of Marmara and the Turkish Aegean and Levantine fauna; Goniada vorax is new for the Aegean Sea; Glycinde nordmanni is new for the Sea of Marmara and Goniadella bobrezkii is new for the Turkish Aegean and the Levantine fauna.
