Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to determine the factors that affect the performance of the companies operating in the logistics sector at the regional level in Turkey. For this purpose, the turnover of companies operating in the logistics sector is used as a performance indicator for the period of 2006-2015. Data on the logistics sector and the transport infrastructure have been obtained from Turkey Statistical Institute, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Highways General Directorate. In this research, logistic sector turnover is used as a dependent variable, the length of the highway and the length of the railway, the amount of port handling, the amount of air freight and foreign trade volume are used as independent variables. Both time and cross-section data are used in the implementation phase. The coefficients of the variables are estimated by the Dynamic Panel Data Analysis Method. According to the results of the analysis, it is observed that the lagged value of the turnover of the logistics sector and all the other independent variables have a significant and positive relationship on the turnover of the logistics companies. It is detected that Railway length has the greatest impact on the turnover of the logistics sector, followed by road length, foreign trade volume, the amount of air freight, and the amount of port handling.
