Abstract (EN)
Turkey's energy consumption and economic growth are rapidly developing, making efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and ensure a sustainable future increasingly important. This study presents an analysis of various economic and social indicators to understand and predict Turkey's CO2 emissions. Data from 2000-2021 demonstrate that fundamental parameters such as electricity production, exports, fuel consumption, population, and total number of vehicles impact CO2 emissions. Analyses conducted using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) have emerged as an effective tool for predicting Turkey's CO2 emissions. Forecasts for 2022-2030 provide valuable guidance to support Turkey's carbon reduction efforts, emphasizing the importance of investments in energy efficiency, renewable energy usage, and sustainable transportation for policymakers. By shedding light on the roadmap Turkey should follow for a sustainable future, this study can help achieve environmental goals.
