Analysis of Turkey's energy supply-demand balance and energy policies in this context

Energy is of vital importance for the development and sustainability of modern societies. From economic growth to industry, from transportation to daily life, energy makes all production possible. Considering natural capacity limitations and flash effects, it has become critical to use energy capacity efficiently and sustainably. The transition to renewable energy plays a key role in combating climate change and ensuring energy security. Therefore, efficient use and a shift toward clean energy sources are essential keys to creating a sustainable world for future generations. In this thesis, Turkey's energy supply-demand balance is examined, and an analysis of related energy policies is conducted. Starting with energy production methods, fossil, renewable, and nuclear-based energy productions are addressed. Information on Turkey's energy resources is provided. The study presents data on past and future energy production, consumption, methods, and energy investments in Turkey. Relevant laws, regulations, and directives are reviewed, and the roles of government institutions in implementing energy-related policies are discussed. In this study, data obtained from Turkey's use of sustainable, secure, and environmentally cleaner renewable alternative energies are analyzed alongside data from nuclear energy, an alternative that contributes to inter-country power dominance and security. By synthesizing this information, the study aims to provide a final analysis and present solution recommendations in the conclusion section. In light of all this information, feasibility reports for renewable energy and other alternative energy productions have been reviewed, and current market analyses have been conducted. In the analysis section, the setup costs of power plants and unit costs used were calculated, considering potential scenarios that may arise from establishing an energy plant. Additionally, within the scope of calculated costs, analysis results regarding suitable types of power plants have been presented to contribute to the literature.
