Abstract (EN)
Biocomfort is an increasingly important concept that should be taken into account in urban planning studies. In this study, summer biocomfort maps were produced and evaluated with the help of summer temperature index using meteorological data for Mersin, Sinop and Muş provinces in areas where different climate types prevail. As a result of the study, it was determined that June was more comfortable in Mersin compared to other months, and comfort values decreased in July and August due to the heat. The most uncomfortable regions in Mersin are generally located in the northeast of the province. It has been determined that in Sinop, the whole of the province is mostly comfortable in June, and July is the most uncomfortable month in the summer. Uncomfortable areas, which are generally concentrated in the northern part of the province, leave their place to comfortable areas in the inner parts of the south of the province. In the province of Muş, it was determined that the northern and northeastern regions of the province were biocomfortably cold in June, and that the entire province was suitable for comfort in July and August. Within the scope of the study, suitable areas for biocomfort were determined in Mersin, Sinop and Muş provinces, and also practical measures were proposed to increase the density of comfort areas in these cities to lead planning studies.
