Abstract (EN)

Since energy from fossil and nuclear resources carries a number of environmental risks, investing in renewable energy resources is one of the ways to minimize all kinds of risks and to use energy efficiently and sustainably. In the last fifteen years, various policies have been tried to be developed as a state on renewable energies in our country. While almost all renewable energy investments are being made, hydraulic energy which has been invested in our country for a long time comes to the forefront. In this study, regarding hydraulic energy hydroelectric potential in Turkey's renewable energy policy and it has an important place in Turkey's hydraulic potential, which focused on the Mediterranean Coast. In the first part of the study, the renewable energy situation of our country has been examined by using current sources and its potential has been investigated. In the second part, the annual average electricity production amounts of the major rivers in Antalya, Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Isparta and Burdur in the Mediterranean Region are calculated separately for each city. In addition, these values are compared with the values produced from all power plants in the provinces. In the third section, the electricity amounts calculated in the previous section of the provinces in the Mediterranean Region, the amount of electricity consumed in these provinces and the values estimated for the next five years are compared. In the conclusion of trusted stream of generated electricity amount of the total generated electricity, the electricity produced from renewable sources, in comparison with the amount of electricity produced from hydraulic power plants and in the Mediterranean region of Turkey is made. It demonstrates that alternative energy sources should be resorted to, where rivers with great hydraulic potential in the Mediterranean Region will not be able to meet electrical energy in the present and future years.
