Abstract (EN)
Following observation that increasing level of labor migration all around the world has put the source countries in a burdensome situation, this study analyzes evolution of Turkey's 60-year long emigration and investigates the structural changes of labor migration in the face of the globalized economy. Defining migration, immigration and emigration with a broad perspective, the study explains the reasons behind the emigration process with a theoretical framework and enquires into Turkey's utilization of opportunities that emerge from global development. With an updated conception of development, Turkey's approach to labor migration has evolved and reversing skilled labor migration has gained importance in recent years. In this study, Turkey's managing migration accomplishment is evaluated by examining policy implementations of source and host countries.
