Automotive sector in Turkey and the analysis for the global competition

Automotive has gained momentum with industrialization and is among the most popular sectors of our time. Among the reason fort hat, it is shown that, in particular with the driving-locomative relationship with many sectors, its supporting technological development and the employment it has created in the main and subsidiary industries, it is among the sectors that provide the greatest added value to the economy. Along with that; increasing globalization, increasing importance of information and communication technologies with each passing day, automotive has taken one step further than many other sectors. In this thesis, the competitive strength of automotive industry in Turkey has been examined and the leading maufacturers of the industry in global competition have been evaluated. The examination of the competitiveness of countries is of great importance in the process of preparing sectoral policies. In addition, the fact that automotive has an economy driving influence in all industrialized countries has been the reason why it is closely followed by countries. While in this study the importance of the sector is emphasized in many aspects in the study, it is aimed to indicate the factors affecting the competitiveness. Performing the analysis in the question is very beneficial in terms of increasing the countries' levels of development. The producers were treated separately as developed countries and developing countries with the economic unions; and by using samples of countries, sectoral evaluations were carried out. While the competitiveness of the countries is being determined; historical development, current situation and the factors affecting the development of the country in question in the sectoral competition are examined in subheadings and the Revealed Comparative Advantages Index (RCA) is used to calculate the competitiveness of the countries in the sector. Therewithal, the relationship between the industry and the industry 4.0 concept, which will be highly publicized in the future, is explained.
