Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the development process of environmental archaeology methods from the emergence to the present day is discussed. The developments in science in the 1900s have also gained a place in the field of archaeology. Archaeological studies are not only about capturing, classifying and typologically analyzing the remains of material culture, but also about questions such as how, by whom, under what conditions and for what purpose these remains were produced. Since the science of archaeology alone is insufficient to answer these questions, developments in other fields of science play an important role in the emergence of sub-disciplines such as Geoarchaeology, Bioarchaeology, Zooarchaeology and Archaeobotany. Thanks to these sub-disciplines, archaeology has become an important factor in seeking answers to questions such as the purpose of production beyond the discovery and classification of remains. In this study, the processes related to the application of sub-disciplines auxiliary to archaeology in prehistoric period excavations in our country are discussed with sample settlements, and the introduction and development process of interdisciplinary methods are examined. These methods, which started to be applied in archaeology, led to the emergence of concepts called theoretical archaeology.
