Econometric analysis of the effects of selected macroeconomic variables on total insurance premium in Turkey

It is a widely known fact that the insurance industry is one of the most critical components within the financial field. This is a valid finding for all advanced economies around the world. The insurance industry is a field that protects people and businesses against potential risks. In this progress, our country's macroeconomic indicators are of great importance. In this master's thesis, general information about the basic concepts of the insurance field is presented as a start. Subsequently, the connection between economic growth and the selected macroeconomic variables for the insurance industry and the sector is examined. In the last section, the study focuses on insurance premium production and the factors affecting premium production. Based on the information obtained from the literature studies conducted within the scope of the study, six different independent variables thought to be influential on insurance premiums were examined.
