Abstract (EN)

Main sectors such as agriculture, industry and service sector are of great importance for the Turkish economy. In addition to these main sectors, the automotive sector is also important as it acts as a locomotive among some other sectors. From the proclamation of the Republic until 1950, the agricultural sector was in the first place in national income, employment and foreign trade, but after 1950 the situation began to change. Today, while the manufacturing industry sector ranks first in foreign trade, the service sector ranks first in employment and national income. In short, there has been a sectoral change in Turkey. When the results of the automotive sector analysis are examined, a bidirectional causality relationship between automotive sector employment and total employment, one-way causality between automotive sector employment and non-institutional population, and one-way causality between automotive sector imports and total imports has been reached. Keywords: Automotive Sector, Foreign Trade, Employment, Time Series Analysis, Industry
