Abstract (EN)

Doctoral thesis on ''Women in Turkey in social policy (1999-2004)' education and social policies for working women in Turkey in private life were examined. In this context, national and international regulations affecting social policies were determined and evaluated in the historical research method. According to this, Turkey in the field of education as well as employment adopted international conventions and, under the influence of these, implemented various regulations in domestic law. As a result, progress has been made in all levels of education, including eight years of education, but the goals of girls' participation in education and female teachers have not been fully achieved. In the economic crisis environment, important activities were carried out for women's employment. A new legislation was adopted in the field of employment, in particular the European acquis communautaire and the aim was to strengthen the position of women in employment. However, due to the effects of the economic crisis as well as the privatization policy, various problems were experienced in female employment. In this respect, it was not possible to reach the targets in the field of employment as in education. All this having been said, it is seen that international agreements have an important effect on social policies for woman in the period 1999-2004. Although significant changes have been made in the domestic legislation with the contribution of these, significant impacts have been observed, but their impact has been limited. Key words: Social Policy, Women, Education, Employment, Social Security Page.
