Obstacles encountered in startup establishment and development processes in Turkey

This academic study aims to examine in detail the obstacles encountered in startups during the establishment and development phase. A qualitative research method was adopted to determine the difficulties encountered during the establishment and development process of newly established enterprises, which is a critical period, and potential solutions to overcome these difficulties. The aim of the research is to analyze in depth the challenges faced by startup initiatives, to increase the future success of these initiatives and to contribute to the entrepreneurship ecosystem. In this context, it is aimed to add new information to the literature and provide practical benefits to entrepreneurs, investors, consultants and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. The findings are expected to guide those who want to improve the strategic decisions and operations of these initiatives. The scope of the study covers 0-3 year old technology startups operating in the IT sector. The research addresses various challenges faced by these startups during their establishment and development period, such as financing, marketing, competition, customer acquisition and legal issues. In the study, in which a qualitative research approach was adopted, in-depth interviews were conducted with the founding partners of startups in the IT sector for the purpose of data collection. Interviews helped us learn about the entrepreneurs' experiences and understand their opinions and suggestions. The study includes the stages of introduction, literature review, research method, findings, discussion, results and recommendations, bibliography and appendices. The result of this research aims to contribute to the literature and practical applications in this field by providing important insights into the establishment and development stages of technology initiatives in the IT sector.
