Abstract (EN)

In today's world, where communication based on new media tools prevails, the forms of production, distribution and consumption in terms of information, have also changed and diversified. This transformation process, in which traditional practices of journalism were also directly affected, brought a fresh and striking publishing genre into the ecosystem. The readers, who are the consumer subjects of these media products, also turned into users who have mastered the semiotic language. Emerging with the rise of smartphones and tablets, tablet publishing continues to increase its influence and gain new supporters and followers in such an environment, in which whether it's "print or digital" are ongoing. Its no doubt that the way of communication of a modern individual evolving into instant selfies and emojis allowed the adaptation process of the change in the media to take a short time. With its multimedia content and rich visuality, tablet magazines, which appeal to most recent types of media consumers, has also effective role on media usage habits of the audience. iPad revolution, as well as all over the world, were met with great interest in Turkey. Printed publications began to move digitally one after another in order to survive in the future's media. During such process, magazine journalism accomplished a brand new form and began to represent a way of expression driven by interactivity. An ordinary article turned into an experience that provokes human senses. Moreover, the world of advertising and marketing took its place in this new game with their new discourses. While some publications got a successful chart, others lost the war of existence in this process. In one hand, there are rooted written publication readers and on the other, lives digitally driven. With this study, which is shaped around the popular discussion in question, the adventure extending from conventional media narration to tablet publishing was tried to be conveyed, all building blocks of tablet magazines were discussed in depth and also current discussions continuous on the matter were included. With a field study conducted in such direction, it was tried to observe how the media usage habits of individuals have changed and to reveal concrete results.
