The effects of agricultural incentives on youth unemployment in turkey: The of Young Farmer Project case in Yalova

Youth unemployment is a problem of increasing importance at the global level, it affects all economies negatively regardless of the developed or underdeveloped countries. the current labor market conditions in Turkey in recent years and constantly upwardly escalating youth unemployment figures are considered together when the destructive effects of youth unemployment level in the society is evolving into an increasingly worrisome levels.. Youth unemployment today is one of the important structural problems of Turkey. Adressing this problem with workaround methods means missing the opprtunity for development of Turkey which has a dynamic demographical look. In parallel with the younger population the inability to achieve adequate levels of new business opportunities as a result of, lack of education or lack education level of qualifications according to labor market demand and the large differences between supply are wages, undeclared work, the economic crisis and recession, constitute some of the reasons why there is a problem withyouth unemployment in Turkey. In parallel with the rapid melting of the agricultural sector and declining agricultural productivity in Turkey, the domestic market in food price inflation and household steady decline in recent years. As a result, number of individuals employed in the agricultural sector declined. This also has negative effects on youth employment. Based on the ideas of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who said The foundation of the national economy is the agriculture"; The main aim of this study is to reveal the inverse relationship between young farmer project and young unemployment, which carries the entrepreneur, volunteer, reliable, strong and young people. Working under the causes of youth unemployment in Turkey, the current situation and the effects of the measures taken in this regard in line with the examining youth unemployment in agriculture was emphasized resolved. Therefore, study focuse ontwo growing problems in Turkey in recent years which areincreasing youth unemployment and shrinking agricultural sector, decreasing agricultural production problem despite increasing population is examined. The universe of the study, which aims to reveal the inverse relationship between the Young Farmer Project and youth unemployment, is limited to young unemployed people aged 18-24 who benefit from the Young Farmer Project in Yalova province. In this context, a questionnaire consisting of demographic and sociometric questions was applied to the participants.This questionnaire was applied to 160 people in the 18-24 age range from the list of young farmers benefiting from the Young Farmer Project from the Yalova Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. All of the questionnaires were found suitable for analysis.Individuals youth unemployment, their perspectives on agricultural support and farming profession were tested in the context of various demographic, social, economic and individual variables.The data obtained from the survey were analyzed with the help of SPSS 20.0 for Windows package program.As a result of the analyzes, it has been determined that the Young Farmer Project has an effect on reducing the youth unemployment.
