Design process management in relationship between designer ? SME in Turkey: Arzum Company as a case study

The process between the SMEs and the design consulting firms in Turkey has been carried out within this study. The relation between SME and industrial design has been examined by conducting a review of the existing literature. In order to gain actual observations regarding the conditions, a field study has taken place at Arzum Küçük Elektrikli Ev Aletleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. Accordingly, the design process management, between the design consulting firm and SME was examined. Furthermore, the questionnaires that were prepared with the information gained from field study and the literature research, design consulting firms and SMEs were approached. The design process in new product development and their relations in this process, despite the limits in the questionnaire practice, have thus been evaluated. As a result, detections and suggestions are made to improve the design process in this relation.
