Abstract (EN)

One of the verbal types that are frequently used in subordinated clause constructions in Turkish is verbal-nouns. Although verbal nouns have been the subject of many morphology-baced studies, no independent study has been carried out that deals with all aspects of the syntactic features of these suffixes. In this study, subordinated clause structures in Turkish formed with verbal-noun suffixes have been examined on the syntactic level. In this study, which is designed by making use of linguistics theory and methods, subordinated clause structures with nominal functions are discussed in terms of connecting methods to the main sentence, and subject-verb compability features. In the study, subordinated clauses with nominal functions have been evaluated in terms of their typological and semantic properties as well as their syntactic properties. In the sample part of the study, Turkish National Corpus, Verbals in Turkish and The Turkish Corpus have been used as database, and also daily spoken language, have been used when it is necessary.
