Turkey's social policies for children who are victims of international migration

Abstract (EN)

In this study, one of the most important disadvantaged groups of migration is children, and policies towards them have been examined. In the first part, terms such as immigration, migrants, migrant child, unaccompanied children, refugees and immigrants are explained. Later, information was provided by legally prescribed definitions. Then social services and social assistance concepts are explained and exemplified. In the second section, the current situation of refugee children and unaccompanied children is demonstrated with numerical data in the world and Turkey. In addition, the problems encountered by children, especially unaccompanied children have been examined. In the third and last part of this study, the refugee children policy in Turkey, legal procedures, problems and obstacles encountered during the procedures were discussed. Also, private corporations and non-governmental organizations that support these issues have been the subject of discussion. Keywords:İnternationalMigration, Refugee Child, Social Policy, Turkey
