Abstract (EN)

The thesis starts with a general background on space technologies and a brief history of its development, including a review of the earlier the activities which have taken place in Turkey. Areas of use of different satellites, their orbits and general missions are described. These are grouped under the topics of communication, observation (including meteorology), search and rescue, navigation, and science. Under each topic, characteristics, typical missions, and systems are given, with examples from new and old satellites. A brief history of space activities in Turkey is given, followed by a list and short description of the institutions in Turkey which have or may have connections with space technologies. In this thesis, we also find out what our country should do in the context of space studies in the future. However, it emphasizes the expansion of the PBN approach within the aviation system as well as the expansion in the airports in our country, and the technique and benefits it provides are mentioned.
