Abstract (EN)
Molecular markers represent an essential part in reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships between different taxa of organisms. In this thesis, phylogeny of the some species of Helophoridae, Hydrochidae and Hydrophilidae based on mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase gene subunit Ι was investigated. The sequences of 99 individuals belong to 33 species of these families were obtained. It is known that Helophorus griseus, Helophorus daedalus and Helophorus abeillei, have been morphologically determined as different species. According the our result, those species have same region. Based on phylogenetic analysis, low composition distance was seen among Helophorus, Helochares and Chaetarthria (%0.002), and high distance between Chasmogenus and Berosus (%3.97).
