Abstract (EN)

The story of Leyli Mecnun is an 18th-century folk tale. Nurmuhammed Andalıp is the author of the story, which is written in prose but also includes poetry sections. The story has many variants in Arabic, Persian and Turkish literature. This is a Turkmen Turkish story with Cagatay Turkish characteristics. Dessanlar, a work by Nurmuhammed Andalıp, was used in the text. Text transcription, translation into Turkey Turkish and noun and conjugation in morphology were studied. As a result, the work is divided into three parts. The Cyrillic version of the text is included in the appendices in order to follow both the transcription and the given language features. It is aimed that the study will contribute to both Turkmen Turkish studies and folk literature studies. Keywords: Turkmen Turkish, folk literature, Nurmuhammed Andalıp, Leyli Mecnun.
