Abstract (EN)

This study includes a critical edition, translation, and analysis of al-Fuṣūl al-Ashrafiyya fī al-uṣūl al-burhāniyya wa'l-kashfiyya, a work by Badr al-Dīn al-Tustarī, a 13th and14th-century scholar who authored numerous works across various disciplines. In this text, Tustarī constructs his intellectual framework by drawing on the views of several prominent scholars, especially Ibn Sīnā, as well as Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī, Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī, and Quṭb al-Dīn al-Shīrāzī. Comprising nine chapters, the work addresses subjects pertaining exclusively to physics and metaphysics, such as the existence and attributes of God, abstract intellects, celestial bodies, prime matter, form, and the soul. The objective of this study is to introduce Tustarī's academic contributions—who authored works in diverse fields—and to make one of his significant texts, al-Fuṣūl al-Ashrafiyya fī al-uṣūl al-burhāniyya wa'l-kashfiyya, accessible to the scholarly world through its critical edition and translation. In line with this goal, the study is organized into three main sections. The first section provides an introduction to the author, the methodology employed in the work, its significance, and content. The second section presents the critically edited Arabic text. The third section contains the Turkish translation of the text.
