Abstract (EN)
In this study, the utilization of tobacco waste, an important industrial crop in our country, was evaluated as an adsorbent and biosorbent precursor in the removal of basic dye, phenol and pesticide from aqueous solutions. Firstly raw material was characterized and then the characterization of solid products obtained by heat treatment was made. Effects of chemicals were examined on the pore structure and the surface of obtained adsorbents. Raw material and solid products were characterized by using FT-IR and SEM characterization techniques. Effects of various experimental factors such as solution pH, adsorbent dosage, initial basic dye, phenol and pesticide concentration, contact time and temperature were examined on adsorption studies. According to the experimental results, the highest basic dye, phenol and pesticide removal was determined as %98, %96 and %96, respectively. Adsorption isotherms, kinetic equations and thermodynamic expressions will be determined and discussed by using experimental data.
