The advantages of the usage of three dimensional printer at the preparation stage of three dimensional animations

Prof. Alpaslan DUYSAK July, 2014, 85 pages Animation has a significant place in today's world. Technical methods defined in the preparation steps affect the quality of the animations. The animations designed as three dimensions with the help of computers may have some differences in reality. The complicated objects designed in digital world can be turned into real objects through three dimensional printers. The photo-realistic and dynamic models prepared in digital world are produced by three dimensional printers and their physical reality can be tested. The history and development of three dimensional printers and their significance in addition to the reason why they are preferred in the animation sector are explained in this study. The points that should be taken into consideration when making a three dimensional animation are investigated in the case study. This study is conducted by case study screening model which is one of the research models. In researches implemented by case study screening model, more detailed and real-like information are obtained comparing to general screening models. In the case in this study, three dimensional grinder model animation has been produced through applying three dimensional printer technology. Based on the case study, the usage of three dimensional printers and the production stages of three dimensional animation are explained as well as the software used in this process. It is aimed to provide a guideline for those who intend to use this technique. Key words: Three Dimensional Printer, Animation, Animation Techniques.
